57 “Under the Twin Moons”

Fleet Admiral Vance assigns Booker (Burnham’s boyfriend – how convenient) to help the crew of the Discovery track down L’ak and Moll.

Consulting Dr Vellek’s journal, they travel to the Promellian burial planet of Lyrek, where they believe the Progenitor technology is hidden.

Burnham and Saru beam down to Lyrek, despite  Starfleet regulations, not to have the two top ranked officers of a starship in danger.  They discuss their feelings, and who should replace Saru. In the end what is needed is an electromagnetic pulse. Something the enterprise could have provided while they were chatting.

Posing as a courier, Booker contacts L’ak and Moll in an attempt to track them down. Examining clues in the ruins of Lyrek, Burnham and Saru determine that the couriers have misinterpreted the clues and are incorrectly on their way to Betazed (to find Councilor Troi ?).

Burnham enlists the crotchety old man Rayner to replace Saru.
