Covid-19 Day 55
Lady and the Tramp is a 1955 American animated musical romance film produced by Walt Disney.
It is the 15th Disney animated feature film and the first animated feature filmed in CinemaScope.
Based on the 1945 Cosmopolitan magazine story of “Happy Dan, The Cynical Dog” by Ward Greene, Lady and the Tramp tells the story of a female American Cocker Spaniel named Lady who lives with a refined, upper-middle-class family and a male stray mutt called the Tramp. When the two dogs meet, they embark on many romantic adventures and fall in love.
The voice of Peggy Lee is very clear in Peg, a stray Pekingese. Sh also voiced the mother, and Siamese Cats Si & Am.
Stan Freberg also stars as the beaver at the zoo who speaks with a lisp. This character would later serve as the inspiration for Gopher from Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (1966).
An unashamedly sweet, sentimental story of a dog from a pup, to having pups of her own. The story seems to take place in a pre-WW1 idealized American town.
